چکیده

Organic–inorganic hybrid materials have attracted much interest because of their novel and specific characteristics. One method to obtain these materials is in situ polymerization through free-radical polymerization. In this study, styrene monomers were covalently linked to silica (SiO2) using the suspension polymerization technique. In the reaction process, benzoyl peroxide was used as an initiator; poly(vinyl alcohol) was used as a suspension agent and water was used as the reaction environment. The styrene/silica composites were characterized in relation to chemical structure and microstructure using solution and solidstate nuclear magnetic resonance, and thermal analysis was performed by differential scanning calorimetry to evaluate the thermal transition temperature (Tg). All results showed that styrene/silica nanocomposites were obtained. The material with 2.5 % SiO2 showed the best characteristics.

A Solid State NMR Investigation of Recent Marine Siliceous Sponge Spicules

The composition of four recent siliceous marine sponge spicules was studied and compared. In particular, multinuclear (29Si, 13C, 31P) solid state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) allowed the characterization of both the mineral and organic constituents in a non-destructive manner. The silica network condensation was similar for all samples. The organic matter showed a similar pattern but varie...

Molecularly ordered inorganic frameworks in layered silicate surfactant mesophases.

Self-assembled lamellar silica-surfactant mesophase composites have been prepared with crystal-like ordering in the silica frameworks using a variety of cationic surfactant species under hydrothermal conditions. These materials represent the first mesoscopically ordered composites that have been directly synthesized with structure-directing surfactants yielding highly ordered inorganic framewor...

Spectrophotometric determination of trace amount of malachite green from water with novel magnetic silica nanoparticles

A nano-hybrid based on polystyrene derivatives and magnetite was introduced as a new sorbent for pretreatment and determine the trace amount of malachite green from aqueous solution by spectrophotometry after preconcentration by solid phase extraction (SPE). UV–Vis spectrophotometer was used for determination of MG concentration after desorption of the dye by hydrochloric acid solution in the s...

1,3,2-Diazaphospha-[3]ferrocenophanes. Molecular Structures and Multinuclear Magnetic Resonance Studies

2-Phenoxy-1,3,2-diazaphospha-[3]ferrocenophane and related derivatives (oxide, sulfide, selenide) were prepared, characterized in solution by multinuclear magnetic resonance methods (1D and 2D 1H, 13C, 15N and 31P NMR) and in the solid state by X-ray structural analysis. The conformation of the 2-phenoxy derivative differs from that of the 2-tert-butyl compound. For further comparison, 2-R2,3-d...

195Pt and 1H NMR has been used to show that addition of chlorine and bromine to [Pt(CN)4]2_ in presence of perchloric acid in water results in cyanide and water scrambling with formation of eleven complexes of the type [Pt(CN)4-nCl(H2O)n+1](n-1)+ (n=0, 1, 2, 3, 4). Addition of NBu4OH ...
